Major provocation in Nusaybin: Turkish flag taken down! First statement from DEM Party
In the Nusaybin district of Mardin, a group carrying Öcalan flags took down the Turkish flag at the border line from its pole. Security forces intervened with warning shots.
Following the DEM Party's decision to hold this week's group meeting in the Nusaybin district of Mardin instead of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), activity increased in the area. After the meeting, which was organized to protest developments in Syria, a group marched from the town center toward the border line.
THERE WERE ALSO ÖCALAN FLAGS
The group, which bypassed police barriers and included members carrying Öcalan flags, headed toward the pole where the Turkish flag was located on the border line. The group took down the Turkish flag from the pole, and the moment was recorded by cameras.
During the incident, group members chanted slogans praising the terrorist organization and attempted to cross to the other side of the border. However, soldiers tasked with ensuring border security intervened by firing warning shots at the group. Following the warning, the crowd quickly dispersed from the area.
