Male body found in the sea off Bebek coast
The lifeless body of a man was found in the sea off the Bebek coast in Istanbul's Beşiktaş district. It is alleged that the individual, whose identity has been determined, jumped from the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.
Citizens who saw an unresponsive person in the sea off the Bebek coast in Istanbul's Beşiktaş district in the morning hours reported the situation to police teams. Upon arriving at the scene, the teams called the Coast Guard Command, the Marine Police, and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department Underwater Search and Rescue (İSAK) teams to recover the body.
The male body, retrieved from the water through the intervention of İSAK divers, was placed on a Coast Guard boat and brought to the Bebek Pier. Police and crime scene investigation teams conducted a detailed examination there. Subsequently, the body was transported to an ambulance and taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue.
The deceased was identified as 40-year-old Ahmet Toka. According to initial investigations, it is alleged that Toka jumped into the sea from the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
