Manisa Governor's Office bans street weddings

The Manisa Governor's Office has banned mass entertainment events such as street weddings.

In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was emphasized that these events held in the streets cause excessive noise and that numerous complaints have been received from citizens on this matter.

The statement noted that these events cause grievances, particularly for the elderly, infants, the sick, and students, and that with the start of the school term, street weddings also negatively affect the educational process in nearby schools. Furthermore, it was highlighted that closing streets for such events makes it difficult for emergency vehicles, such as ambulances and fire trucks, to pass.

The Manisa Governor's Office emphasized that the ban was taken "to protect public peace and safeguard public health." It was stated that these events, which lead to traffic disruptions and hinder emergency health services in addition to noise pollution, cause serious problems, especially in city centers. The Governor's Office stated that relevant law enforcement and municipal police units will strictly enforce this ban. It was announced that the provisions of Article 36 of the Misdemeanors Law, titled "Noise," will be applied to those who do not comply.
