Mansur Yavaş's first reaction to the 'soup' investigation: 'A system that operates differently for everyone...'

It has been learned that the investigation permit granted against Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, as part of the Ministry of Interior's probe into concert expenditures, also includes the municipality's practice of distributing free soup at a total of 13 locations, including hospital entrances and university areas within its jurisdiction.

Speaking to Aytunç Erkin from Nefes, Yavaş made the following statements:

“While decisions have been made in dozens of complaints regarding the previous term stating that a mayor cannot be held responsible for the actions of individual units, the implementation of the exact opposite today is a clear double standard. It is impossible to accept this understanding of justice that operates differently for everyone. We have full faith that justice will prevail sooner or later and that this decision will be overturned by the judiciary. Let it not be forgotten; the law will be needed by everyone one day. Furthermore, we will exercise our legal right and appeal to the Council of State as soon as possible. I will share a more comprehensive statement with the public on Monday (tomorrow).”
