Mansur Yavaş's post on Mahir Polat: 'Both a humanitarian necessity and a moral obligation'

İBB Deputy Secretary-General Mahir Polat's health problems have worsened. Polat was taken to the hospital, underwent an angiogram, and was then sent back to Silivri Prison.

A post came from Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş regarding Polat, who was arrested and sent to prison as part of the 'urban consensus' investigation launched against him.

Yavaş reacted to the fact that Mahir Polat was not released despite his health problems, making the following post on his social media account:

"It is as important for judicial proceedings to be humane as it is for them to be fair. The health problems experienced by our Historical Cities Association Secretary-General, Mr. Mahir Polat, are evident. Under these conditions, Mahir Polat being tried without arrest is both a humanitarian necessity and a moral obligation for everyone in a position of responsibility."
