Matthias Malik Lammers, wanted via Interpol Red Notice, captured in Alanya

Matthias Malik Lammers, who was sought by Interpol via a Red Notice and had an arrest warrant issued by Danish judicial authorities, was taken into custody during an operation conducted in the Alanya district of Antalya.

It was determined that Lammers, born on April 4, 1998, entered Turkey after arriving in Istanbul from Morocco on May 12, 2024. The suspect, who was subject to an Interpol Red Notice dated May 23, 2024, with the reference number A-5865/5-2024, was wanted for the crimes of "intentional homicide" and "illegal possession, import, export, and use of weapons and explosives." It was also determined that he had a G-58 restriction code registered in Turkey.

The operation to capture the suspect was carried out under the leadership of the Department of Anti-Narcotic Crimes, in coordination with the Danish Police Liaison Office. The operation was also supported by MASAK, the Intelligence Department, the Interpol-Europol Department, and police units in Istanbul and Antalya.

Following a pursuit that lasted approximately four months, Lammers was captured and taken into custody by teams from the Alanya Anti-Narcotic Crimes Bureau. During a search of the address where the suspect was staying, an unlicensed pistol and 8 cartridges were seized.

It was also reported that Lammers was the organizer of a 17-kilogram drug shipment seized during an operation codenamed "COB" on August 21, 2024, and that he was wanted with a 16-year prison sentence in connection with this crime.
