Meat and butter prices fixed in Istanbul
The Istanbul Retailers Association (PERDER) has decided to fix the prices of red meat and butter until the end of the year. Prices have been frozen to support citizens struggling with economic conditions. However, even with this price fixing, costs remain high for low-income earners.
Following recent allegations regarding the Meat and Milk Board (ESK), a notable move has been made regarding red meat prices in Istanbul.
For citizens whose purchasing power is gradually eroding due to the impact of inflation, the Istanbul Retailers Association (PERDER) has fixed the prices of red meat and butter. This decision aims to provide some relief to the budgets of low-income families in the metropolitan area.
MEAT AND BUTTER PRICES FIXED
PERDER announced that it has frozen prices until the end of the year to reduce the pressure that economic difficulties have placed on citizens. Within the framework of the relevant protocols, red meat and butter will be sold at fixed prices in markets across Istanbul until December 31. Faruk Güzeldere, a member of the Istanbul PERDER Board of Directors, stated that this move aims to help protect citizens from inflation.
GROUND BEEF AND CUBED BEEF PRICES CLARIFIED
With the decision taken, the label prices that will be valid until the end of the year have also been determined. Güzeldere announced that in member markets in Istanbul, ground beef will be sold for 485 TL per kilogram, and cubed beef will be sold for 510 TL. These prices are seen as an important step for citizens following the recent increases in meat prices.
PRICE FIXING FOR BUTTER AS WELL
The price-fixing decision was not limited to meat alone. Butter, a staple of breakfast tables, was also included in the campaign. Güzeldere announced that the price of butter per kilogram has also been fixed and will be sold for 384 TL until the end of the year.
