Meat imports show no signs of stopping: 33 trucks arrived from Poland!

The Meat and Milk Board (ESK) imported 33 trucks of carcass meat from Poland this week over the course of 3 days. It was noted that 33 trucks, each carrying 20 tons, correspond to 660 tons of meat.

FATTY SLAUGHTER PRICE DROPPED TO 260 LIRA

While a decline in consumption has caused stagnation in the meat market, slaughter prices have also fallen below 300 lira.

According to a report by Sadettin İnan from Tarımdanhaber; the prices for fatty Angus-Brangus slaughter cattle have dropped to 260 lira, while domestic and European fatty slaughter prices have fallen to an average of 280 lira.

33 TRUCKS OF MEAT IMPORTED IN 3 DAYS

ESK imported a total of 33 trucks of meat this week, with 10 trucks on Monday, 10 trucks on Tuesday, and 13 trucks on Wednesday. The imported meat was sold to industrial producers and supermarkets.

ESK WILL CONTINUE MEAT IMPORTS UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR

On the other hand, in order to continue meat imports from Poland until the end of the year, ESK recently signed a new contract with the Polish company BEEF for a total of 13 thousand tons, consisting of 10 thousand tons of carcass meat and 3 thousand tons of boneless meat.

The continuation of meat imports by ESK during a period when demand for meat has fallen and slaughter prices have declined has worried livestock farmers, 30 percent of whom have already withdrawn from production.
