Mehmet Uçum speaks to 12punto: Response to Ali Koç's 'he blocked the championship' claim

Fenerbahçe presidential candidates Aziz Yıldırım and Ali Koç participated in a live broadcast on Habertürk Television on June 8, ahead of the elections.

The controversy surrounding Chief Advisor to the President Mehmet Uçum drew attention during the program attended by Aziz Yıldırım and Ali Koç.

'YOUR OLD FRIEND MEHMET UÇUM STEPPED IN'

The dialogue in which Ali Koç implied that Mehmet Uçum blocked the championship in 2020 is as follows:

Ali Koç: You hadn't become champions either. We cannot provide the real estate you acquired through debt as collateral to UEFA or the TFF to increase our spending limits. The first 2 years were mistakes, squad engineering, coaching choices. But even in the second year, we were the biggest candidate for the championship in the 22nd week, and in the 7 weeks that followed, we could only get 3 out of 21 points. The referees butchered us. Aziz Yıldırım: Isn't he your friend?

Ali Koç: He is not my friend at all.

Mehmet Uçum, who was at the center of the debate, spoke for the first time regarding the allegation. Stating that he supported Fenerbahçe at that time, Mehmet Uçum said:

“The issue that I am said to have stepped into is the statement I made with this tweet. There is full support for Fenerbahçe here. It is not possible to interpret this statement in any other way.”
