Memorial house for Atatürk in North Macedonia
The government of North Macedonia has decided to establish a "Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Memorial House" as a national institution.
In a statement issued by the government, it was announced that during the 199th government session, upon the proposal of the Ministry of Culture, it was decided to establish the "Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Memorial House" National Institution in the village of Kocacık, located in the Centar Župa Municipality in the western part of the country.
The statement noted, "With this decision, the aim is to research, collect, organize, professionally and scientifically process, examine, preserve, and publish the life and works of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, as well as other ethnological and historical objects of importance to the Republic of North Macedonia."
The village of Kocacık in the Centar Župa Municipality is also home to the Memorial House of Ali Rıza Efendi, the father of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, which was restored by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and opened to the public on May 19, 2014.
