Memur-Sen: Shuttle services will continue!

It has been decided to abandon the practice of abolishing shuttle services in public institutions and organizations, which was announced in May as part of austerity measures. In a letter sent to public institutions and organizations by the General Directorate of Law and Legislation of the Presidency's Administrative Affairs, it was stated that shuttle services would continue.

The relevant decision in the letter shared by Ali Yalçın, the chairman of the pro-government union Memur-Sen, on his X account, used the following expressions:

"In the requests submitted by public institutions and organizations where personnel shuttle services were terminated; it was reported that the need for shuttle services continues, that traffic congestion, especially in regions where ministry headquarters are located, negatively affects adherence to start and end times of shifts, that the termination of personnel shuttles increases the use of individual vehicles, and that a significant portion of personnel using public transport experience loss of time due to having to use multiple vehicles, which causes grievances for the personnel.

As a result of the evaluation made regarding the issues mentioned above, in order not to disrupt public services and to eliminate personnel grievances, permission has been granted to public institutions and organizations whose provision of personnel shuttle services is subject to Presidential approval to provide personnel shuttle services, provided that the criteria regarding personnel shuttles in the aforementioned Circular are complied with and that public resources are used effectively, economically, and efficiently."
