Meteorology issues date... Downpours expected on Sunday

Fevzi Burak Tekin, a weather forecasting expert from the General Directorate of Meteorology, provided information regarding the weather in the coming days.

It was stated that as of Sunday, June 29, air temperatures in the northern, central, and eastern regions of Turkey will drop below seasonal norms.

ANKARA

While no precipitation is expected in Ankara on Saturday and Monday, it was stated that showers and occasional thunderstorms will be effective on Sunday afternoon. The air temperature, which is 34 degrees on Saturday, is expected to drop to 25 degrees on Sunday and 29 degrees on Monday.

İSTANBUL

It was reported that air temperatures in Istanbul will remain within seasonal norms over the weekend, with occasional precipitation expected on Sunday morning. The temperature, which is 31 degrees on Saturday, will drop to 26 degrees on Sunday and 29 degrees on Monday.

İZMİR

In İzmir, no precipitation is expected, but a warning was issued regarding strong winds from the north. It was stated that the wind could reach speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour in some areas, and citizens were urged to be cautious against falling trees, roof damage, and storms at sea.

Tekin noted that precipitation will be seen especially on Saturday in Thrace and the inland parts of Ordu, Giresun, and Trabzon, while on Sunday, precipitation will be effective in the south and east of Marmara, the Black Sea region, Central Anatolia, and the north of Eastern Anatolia. Locally heavy rainfall is expected on the Black Sea coast.

On Monday, the precipitation will shift to the eastern regions, and rain will continue in the Central and Eastern Black Sea, the north of Eastern Anatolia, the Samsun-Sinop line, and the coastal parts of Kastamonu. It was stated that as of Tuesday, no precipitation is expected in most of Turkey, although localized rain may be seen in the northern parts.
