Meteorology issues yellow code warning for Istanbul
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued warnings for heavy rainfall in the Marmara and Black Sea regions and for storms in the North Aegean. A yellow code alert has been issued for 11 provinces, including Istanbul.
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued important warnings regarding weather conditions that will affect the northern parts of Turkey. Heavy rainfall is expected in the Marmara and Black Sea regions, while storms are expected in the North Aegean. Air temperatures are set to drop by 3 to 5 degrees in the northern and inland areas, and a yellow code warning has been issued for 11 provinces.
EXPECTATION OF HEAVY RAINFALL AND STORMS
According to the latest forecasts by the Meteorology office, local heavy rainfall is expected to be effective in the Marmara region and the inland parts of the Black Sea. Furthermore, heavy rainfall will also affect the coasts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea, as well as the surroundings of Kırklareli, Tekirdağ, Istanbul, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Yalova, Sinop, Tokat, and Artvin. In other regions, the weather will generally be clear and partly cloudy.
On the North Aegean coasts, the wind is expected to blow strongly, with short-term storms anticipated. Additionally, it was stated that haze and occasional fog will form in the Marmara region and the inland parts of the Black Sea during the morning and night hours.
AIR TEMPERATURES TO DROP
Meteorology announced that air temperatures will decrease by 3 to 5 degrees in the northern and inland parts of the country. There will be no significant change in temperatures in other regions. This change may make weather conditions more difficult, especially during the morning and night hours.
YELLOW CODE ALARM FOR 11 PROVINCES
A yellow code warning has been issued for 11 provinces due to the storm. These provinces are: Istanbul, Balıkesir, Bursa, Çanakkale, Edirne, İzmir, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Manisa, Tekirdağ, and Yalova.
