MHP's Yıldız announces the roadmap for the reconciliation commission! 'It will not submit legislative proposals, but...'

The commission established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) as part of the new reconciliation process, which the People's Alliance formed by the AKP and MHP has named 'Terror-Free Turkey,' has begun its work.

Fethi Yıldız, an MHP member of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission, made statements regarding the roadmap the commission will follow.

MHP's Yıldız, who is also a member of the Constitutional Commission, noted in his assessment on his social media account that the commission consists primarily of legal experts, stating, "The commission will not submit legislative proposals to the Grand National Assembly. However, it will prepare drafts for advisory proposals in agreed-upon areas."

According to Feti Yıldız's statements, the commission's purpose will be to present suggestions for regulations on agreed-upon topics rather than producing new laws.

Yıldız used the following expressions in his statement:

"The majority of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission consists of legal colleagues.

IT WILL PREPARE DRAFT PROPOSALS

The commission will not submit legislative proposals to the Grand National Assembly. However, it will prepare drafts for advisory proposals in agreed-upon areas.

We will not be discovering anything new.

The principles of Criminal Procedure Law are clear.

The Principle of Fair Trial,

The Presumption of Innocence, the principle of non-stigmatization,

The Principle of Independent and Impartial Judge,

The Principle of In Dubio Pro Reo (Benefit of the Doubt),

The Principle of Publicity,

The Principle of Privacy of Private Life,

The principle of not being forced to provide evidence against oneself,

The Principle of Investigation of Material Truth,

The principle of adversarial proceedings,

The Principle of No Trial Without a Case,

The Principle of Immediacy,

The Principle of Mandatory Prosecution,

The Principle of Appropriateness,

The Principle of the Rule of Law,

The Principle of Proportionality.

Human Rights Regarding the Functioning of Criminal Procedure:

The Right to Seek Justice,

The Right of the Suspect or Defendant to Learn About the Accusations and Legal Rights,

The Suspect's Right to Remain Silent Regarding Accusations,

The Right to Defense,

The Right to an Interpreter,

The Right to be Tried Within a Reasonable Time.

LET US CONSTRUCT A NEW LANGUAGE

While taking steps that embrace the entire society, expand the area of fundamental rights and freedoms, and reinforce the citizens' sense of belonging to the country and trust in the state, let us construct a new language on the path to a Terror-Free Turkey.

Let us think with composure.

Let us not fall into the trap of those eager to fuel hostility."
