The school bell rang for children in Istanbul following the end of the mid-term break. Due to the reopening of schools, traffic congestion formed on major arteries during the morning hours.
Following the end of the 2025-2026 academic year mid-term break, the first school bell rang today for approximately 20 million students. On the first day of school, traffic congestion began to occur in Istanbul starting from the morning hours, particularly on major arteries.
In Mecidiyeköy, vehicle traffic was observed to be heavy in the direction of Ankara. According to IMM data, traffic density in Istanbul was measured at 70 percent as of 08:00.
