Million-lira tenders held hours before certificate delivery: AKP municipalities are emptying the coffers

The Üsküdar and Tuzla municipalities, which passed from the AKP to the CHP, signed multi-million lira tender contracts before the new mayors received their certificates of election.

5 MILLION LIRA FOR PORCELAIN MUG TENDER

According to information on the Electronic Public Procurement Platform (EKAP), the Üsküdar Municipality held a tender on March 15 for the 'purchase of printed porcelain mugs.' The contract for the tender, worth 4 million 704 thousand lira, was signed on April 2, just before the time the CHP mayor was to take office.

The purpose of the tender is described in the technical specifications as follows: "Purchase of printed porcelain mugs to be given as gifts to visitors coming to the Üsküdar Municipality presidential office, to citizens participating in events organized by our municipality, and to those participating in boat tours on the Valide Sultan Ship."

According to the specifications, 84 thousand mugs will be purchased. The mugs will have "Glad there is Üsküdar" written on them.

The tender was won by 'Sembol Amblem Dekoratif Eşya Sanayii ve Ticaret AŞ'.

The same company had previously received 'printed porcelain mug' tenders from the Üsküdar Municipality worth 1 million 375 thousand lira on November 17, 2023, 600 thousand lira on October 11, 2022, 182 thousand lira in 2018, and 104 thousand lira in 2017.

TWO MILLION LIRA FOR SU BÖREĞİ

The Üsküdar Municipality also organized a tender on March 11 for the 'purchase of su böreği' (water pastry). The tender, worth 1 million 920 thousand lira, went to the company 'Oviya Gıda Unlu Mamuller İnşaat Sanayii ve Ticaret LTD. ŞTİ'.

The contract for the tender was signed on March 26.

According to information in the Cumhuriyet newspaper, one of the company's partners, Hakkı Şanlı, was an AKP candidate for Istanbul deputy in 2015.

GIFT SET TENDER FROM TUZLA MUNICIPALITY

The Tuzla Municipality, on the other hand, organized a tender on March 14 for the 'purchase of gift sets within the scope of the "Welcome Baby" and "Welcome to Tuzla" projects.'

The contract for the tender, worth 2 million 943 thousand lira, was signed on April 2.

The tender was won by 'Eriza Organizasyon Turizm Eğitim Gıda ve Reklam Hizmetleri Sanayi Ticaret LTD. ŞTİ.'

Eriza Organizasyon has received 60 tenders from public institutions, primarily AKP-run Tuzla, Pendik, and Esenler municipalities, since 2018. The total value of these tenders is close to 90 million lira.

62 MILLION LIRA SIGNATURE

The Tuzla Municipality also organized a tender on March 15 for '2024 park construction, park revision, field construction and revision works, and purchase of various nursery materials.' The contract for the tender was signed on April 2.

The 62 million 458 thousand lira tender went to 'Raha Peyzaj Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi'.

The lowest and highest bids in the tender are the same. This creates the impression that only one company submitted a bid for the tender.
