Minibus driver's outcry in Fethiye: "I feel like setting it on fire"

Minibus drivers providing public transportation services in Fethiye, one of the popular spots for tourism, are experiencing serious difficulties due to the economy and price hikes. A local minibus driver recorded and shared the challenges he is facing, stating that he cannot find passengers.

Stating that he spends approximately 300 liras on fuel per trip, the driver expressed that he could not pick up any passengers despite passing in front of five different hotels on a route. The driver summarized his situation with the words, "I came with an empty vehicle, I am returning with an empty vehicle. I passed in front of five hotels, not a single person came out. It burns 300 liras every trip. Diesel has reached 60 liras. Let them see our state, our misery. I feel like pouring gasoline and setting this minibus on fire. What are we going to do, is there no solution? We are working for the auto repair shop and the state."

Many drivers operating in Fethiye are facing economic difficulties due to rising fuel prices and a decreasing number of passengers. Despite the tourist density in the region, the low usage of public transportation is leading to a serious decline in the drivers' incomes. The drivers are demanding that their grievances be seen by the authorities and that a solution be found.
