Minibus hits median, 3 children lose their lives
In Konya, a minibus lost control, hitting the median and then trees before coming to a stop. 3 children lost their lives in the accident.
The accident occurred around 22:15 on Adana Ring Road Street in the Fevzi Çakmak neighborhood of the central Karatay district. The minibus with license plate 49 AAC 437, whose driver has not yet been identified, lost control on the road, which had become slippery due to rain.
DIED AT THE SCENE
The minibus, whose driver lost steering control, hit the median and then swerved, coming to a stop after hitting trees. Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Muharrem Aknur, who was in the vehicle, lost his life at the scene. The injured, Mehmet Saim Aknur (41), his daughter Yaren Aknur (12), Nurten Çiftçi (46), Marifet Azat (45), her son Yiğit Uğur Azat (4), and Cemal Çıplak (72), were taken to various hospitals in the city after receiving initial medical intervention.
Among the injured receiving treatment, Yaren Aknur (12) and Yiğit Uğur Azat (4) could not be saved despite the doctors' interventions. The police have launched an investigation into the accident.
