Minimum wage outcry on Akit TV: 'Have you become this disconnected from the people'

Murat Şahin, host of the "Gün Başlıyor" (The Day Begins) program on Akit TV, made a striking statement regarding minimum wage earners and retirees struggling to make ends meet.

Reacting to the discussed minimum wage increase rate with the words, "Since when did we stop considering the minimum wage earner, the worker, the laborer, and the retiree as human beings," Murat Şahin said, "When did we stop considering minimum wage earners and retirees as human beings? I see those on other television channels who cannot go two steps beyond sycophancy to the government. It is shameful! Have you become this disconnected from the people?"

"You are a minimum wage earner. Let me speak harshly for a moment; you haven't amounted to anything, you are a minimum wage earner. You don't even have the right to live. Are you going to eat bread? No, there is no bread. You are dreaming of a home, aren't you? Not even owning one, just renting. You are putting a roof over your head. No, leave it, let them live in a tent. You retired, did you? You worked, worked, and worked for years. You earned for yourself, you earned for your country. You earned the sustenance for your spouse, your family, and your children. Now your health is gone, your well-being is gone. Your body is tired now. You cannot lift your head from illness. Why are you even living?
