Minister Hakan Fidan to attend OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting

Minister Hakan Fidan to attend OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will attend the 31st Ministerial Council Meeting of the OSCE, of which Turkey is a founding member, to be held in Malta from December 5-6, 2024. 

The meeting is expected to involve an assessment of the security situation in the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian region, a discussion of current challenges, and an exchange of views on issues regarding the OSCE's agenda and operations.

WHAT IS ON HAKAN FIDAN'S AGENDA? 

Foreign Minister Fidan is also expected to address the participants during the first General Session of the meeting to be held on December 5. 

Minister Fidan is expected to point out that the OSCE is the most inclusive platform for security and cooperation in Europe and to state that the organization must continue to remain an element of the European security architecture; he is also expected to underscore Turkey's support in this regard. Fidan is further expected to emphasize Turkey's support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the priority it places on diplomacy and dialogue for achieving a just and lasting peace. Additionally, within this framework, Fidan is expected to draw attention to the importance of establishing lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
