Important statement from Minister Işıkhan regarding pension salaries

Making important statements about the agenda during a program he attended in Çorum, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan reported that necessary work is being done to improve the living conditions of retirees and that a re-evaluation will be made regarding pension salaries.

Minister Işıkhan met with business people in the city at the Çorum Chamber of Commerce and Industry Assembly Meeting Hall.

Speaking here, Işıkhan said that the unemployment rate decreased by 1 point to 9.4 percent in 2023, and that this data shows they are on the right track despite the pandemic, wars in the regions, and the earthquake disaster.

Reminding that AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan announced that they have doubled the promotion payment application they initiated for retirees in public banks, and that it will be between 8 and 12 thousand liras, Işıkhan said, "Apart from this, we had also announced a 5 thousand lira promotion for death benefit beneficiaries. Applications for promotions were received starting from Monday of this week. As of today, our public banks have started making promotion payments to our retirees. May it be auspicious for all our retirees."

Stating that they have completed the process of signing protocols with other banks as well, Işıkhan said, "Private banks will also update their promotion amounts, with the public bank amounts being the minimum. We are striving to provide the best possible service to our retirees with sound policies."

Pointing out that they will continue to implement new practices that will increase the welfare of retirees, Işıkhan said:

"Our President stated today, 'We will put pension salaries back on the table in July.' As you know, the raise for pension salaries is shaped according to the collective agreement for civil servant retirees, and according to inflation for SSK and Bağkur. We have often taken steps for our retirees far above these amounts in line with needs and possibilities. As we strongly raise our economy in balance and discipline, we will continue to give our retirees a larger share of the increasing prosperity. In addition, as we have said before, we will implement the regulation to expand the 3600 supplementary indicator regulation to cover all civil servants. We will also eliminate the injustice in the number of insurance premium days required for the retirement of our tradesmen."

Emphasizing that they never make promises they cannot keep, Işıkhan noted the following:

"This is a tactic of others to deceive the nation, not ours. Whatever we have said so far, we have done, and we will continue to do so step by step from now on.

Despite all the disasters and catastrophes we have experienced in the last 5 years, we are able to continue our services without interruption, never victimizing our citizens. We are now a state with this power.

Therefore, we will hopefully achieve the Century of Turkey vision, which is our goal as the People's Alliance, pointed out by our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with your support. We will make this century the century of labor, production, and work.
