Minister Şimşek announces Turkey will be removed from the grey list. He provided a date

The final stage has been reached for Turkey's removal from the FATF grey list.

Minister Şimşek stated, "The evaluation report to be prepared by the FATF team will be discussed at the General Assembly in June," adding, "It is expected that the decision to remove the grey list will be made at this meeting."

The statement made by Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek on his official social media account X is as follows:

"We have successfully completed our technical work to remove our country from the grey list. With the on-site inspection to be held in June, the process of exiting the grey list will be completed."

The FATF (Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering) General Assembly decided on October 21, 2021, to include Turkey in the grey list, which also includes countries such as Pakistan, Syria, and South Sudan.

In the latest statement made by the FATF, it was reported that the necessary procedures for Turkey's removal from the grey list have been largely completed.
