Minister Tekin's election result statement with 'Israel reference': 'If we don't want to please them'

Tekin attended an Eid celebration program organized by the AKP in Erzurum. Evaluating the March 31 election results, in which the CHP achieved a major success, Tekin said, "Israel shared messages expressing its satisfaction with the March 31 elections in Turkey.

If we do not want to please Israel, it is time to start working again from tomorrow, to put our hats in front of us, put our hands on our conscience, and rethink where we made mistakes, what we did incompletely, and how we need to reach out to whom," he said.

Tekin attended an Eid celebration program organized by the AKP in his hometown of Erzurum. Speaking at the program held at Yakutiye City Square, Tekin described Israel's attacks on Palestine and said that 6 thousand school-aged children have been killed since October.

Touching on the March 31 election results, Tekin stated that the AKP has emerged as the first party in all elections it has entered since the day it was founded. Tekin continued his speech as follows:

"WE ARE OBLIGATED TO TAKE STEPS THAT WILL ENSURE THE NATION CHOOSES US AGAIN"

"For the first time in an election, we are leaving the elections with a heavy heart, a bit sad. We, as people who engage in politics on behalf of the Justice and Development Party, have known how to respect the will of the nation whether we win or lose.

We are not people who would say, as the general secretary of the political party of the era did in the 1946 elections, 'When the will of the nation did not result as we wanted, that is, when the elections did not result as we wanted, we decided that the national will was not manifested.'

We believe that the will of the nation has manifested in this direction, whether the elections result as we want or not. What falls to us? What falls to the friends who came to this celebration ceremony, to the entire self-sacrificing, devoted AK Party family fighting in the field on behalf of the Justice and Development Party, to all members of this community, is that we have 4 years ahead of us; we are obligated to take steps over these 4 years that will ensure the nation trusts us again and chooses us again.
