Minister Tunç gives veiled 'trustee' message during municipal visit

Arriving in Bartın for various engagements, Tunç addressed citizens before his visit to the Ulus Municipality.

Minister Tunç stated that they believe Hasan Hüseyin Uzun, who was re-elected as the Mayor of Ulus, will sign off on much greater works for the district in the new term.

Stating that they, as the cabinet and the government, will continue to provide all kinds of support to Uzun to realize his new term projects, Tunç thanked the citizens for their support of Uzun, who was elected mayor for the third time.

Emphasizing that municipalities and local governments are the "cradle of democracy," Tunç spoke as follows:

"Our public institutions, which provide all kinds of services to our citizens from birth to death through local governments, are also the same. Our mayors, who come to office through elections, are tasked with channeling the support they receive from the nation back to the nation as service, and the support they receive from the state and the nation's resources back to the nation as service. The works they carry out, whether social services for you or the reconstruction of the district, the town, and the municipality, and the services performed to make the city more livable, must of course continue to increase."

"IF THEY CHANNEL THE NATION'S RESOURCES TO THE NATION'S ENEMIES..."

Tunç underlined that public resources and the funds sent to municipalities must be used down to the last penny as service to the citizens and the nation.

Explaining that those who spend public resources on activities involving criminal elements or use them to finance terrorism are punished by the nation, and that bad examples of this have been experienced in the past, Tunç said, "If a mayor channels the nation's resources to the enemies of the nation, the rule of law comes into play there. At this point, the state's authorized institutions will always be sensitive and on alert regarding this matter. Mayors will also work with this awareness and will not abuse the authority they receive from the public, from the nation."

Noting that they have brought beautiful works to Ulus, Tunç stated that they want to carry the municipality's projects even further in the new term.

Expressing that they will continue to provide all kinds of support in this regard, Tunç said, "We will continue to work with all our might to be worthy of your support and trust."

Following his speech, Tunç visited the Mayor of Ulus, Hasan Hüseyin Uzun, in his office.

Minister Tunç was accompanied on his visit by Governor Nurtaç Arslan, AK Party Bartın Deputy Yusuf Ziya Aldatmaz, Chief Public Prosecutor Faruk Kaynak, and AK Party Provincial Chairman Yaşar Arslan.
