Minister Yerlikaya announced! 610 kg of cocaine seized in a banana-laden container

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared the details of the drug operation on his social media account.

Yerlikaya stated the following in his post:

"Our Mersin Provincial Police Department's Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch seized 610 kg of cocaine in a container whose legal cargo was bananas during a search conducted at the Mersin International Port.

Having received intelligence that cocaine had been placed inside banana crates arriving from Ecuador, our narcotics forces tracked the international route of the container. When the narcotics arrived at Mersin Port, the NARCO-FORCE operation was launched.

3 suspects, including the owner of the company that was to receive the banana shipment, were apprehended."
