Minister Yerlikaya announces figures regarding May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day across the country

Minister Yerlikaya shared a post on his social media account regarding May 1st.

He announced that a total of 210 events were held across the country, 226 people were detained, and 28 security personnel were slightly injured.

Minister Yerlikaya's post is as follows;

On May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day, a total of 210 events were organized by political parties, unions, and non-governmental organizations in 78 of our provinces across the country.

Approximately 241 thousand people participated in events such as rallies, marches, press statements, and wreath-laying ceremonies.

A total of 226 individuals were detained, including 217 in Istanbul, 4 in Tunceli, 3 in Kahramanmaraş, and 2 in Aydın, for demonstrating in unauthorized areas, ignoring warnings, and attacking our police.

During the incidents, 28 of our security personnel were slightly injured.

I would like to thank our Deputy Ministers, our Gendarmerie General Command, our General Directorate of Security, our Coast Guard Command, our Governors, our Provincial Police Chiefs, our Provincial Gendarmerie Commanders, our District Governors, our District Police Chiefs, our District Gendarmerie Commanders, and our heroic security forces who ensured that May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day passed in peace and security.
