With only hours left until the new year, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced the number of personnel who will be on duty for New Year's Eve.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the number of security personnel on duty for New Year's Eve in a post on his X account.
Yerlikaya stated the following:
"We have taken the necessary measures to welcome the year 2024 in our country in peace and security!
The Gendarmerie will be on duty with 38,222 personnel, 5,552 vehicles, and 265 drones;
The Police will be on duty with 167,739 personnel, 178 aircraft, 86 marine vessels, and 400 detector dogs;
The Coast Guard will be on duty with 2,913 personnel, 4 aircraft, 163 marine vessels, and 8 detector dogs on New Year's Eve.
We are at the service of our nation with all our units to protect the life and property safety of every one of our citizens and guests in the new year as well.
We hope that the year 2024 brings peace, tranquility, and well-being to our country, our nation, and all of humanity.
