Minister Yerlikaya announces: 'Kuyu-27' operation in 6 provinces

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that 32 suspects were apprehended in the "Kuyu-27" operation targeting an organized crime group, which was carried out in 6 provinces centered in Antalya.

Yerlikaya shared the details of the operation in a post on his social media account.

Minister Yerlikaya stated that the operation, conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the General Directorate of Security, was directed at the organized crime group led by Beratcan Gökdemir.

He stated that it was determined that the members of the criminal organization had beaten business people who refused to pay them extortion money, fired shots at workplaces, homes, and vehicles, and committed crimes such as establishing a criminal organization, attempted murder, intentional injury, property damage, and death threats.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION IN 6 PROVINCES

The operation was carried out simultaneously in Istanbul, Adana, Izmir, Konya, and Diyarbakir, with Antalya as the center. During the operation, security forces seized 23 unlicensed pistols, 2 unlicensed rifles, narcotics, and a large amount of cash.

'NO PASSAGE FOR CRIMINAL ORGANIZATIONS'

Congratulating the security forces who successfully carried out the operation, Minister of Interior Yerlikaya said, "I want our dear nation to know that we will never allow passage to organized crime groups. No matter how large they are, we are determined to dismantle these structures and bring them to justice."
