Minister Yerlikaya announces: Operation against fuel smugglers

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on his X account that simultaneous operations were carried out in 46 provinces against 'Fuel Smuggling' within the framework of the Çengel-3 Operations.

Yerlikaya stated the following:

13 MILLION IN TAX LOSS PREVENTED

"In the 'Çengel-3' operations carried out simultaneously in 46 provinces against fuel smuggling, judicial proceedings were initiated against 91 individuals, and administrative proceedings were initiated against 43 individuals! 1 million liters of illegal fuel were seized. A tax loss of 13 million TL was prevented!

Under the coordination of our General Directorate of Security's Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime; with the participation of the Provincial Police Departments' Anti-Smuggling Branches and the Revenue Administration; 'Çengel-3 Operations' were conducted in a total of 46 provinces, including Adana, Adıyaman, Afyonkarahisar, Ağrı, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bolu, Burdur, Bursa, Çorum, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Erzincan, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Hakkari, Hatay, Isparta, Mersin, Istanbul, Izmir, Kars, Kayseri, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Konya, Manisa, Mardin, Muğla, Ordu, Sakarya, Samsun, Tekirdağ, Şanlıurfa, Van, Kırıkkale, Batman, Şırnak, Iğdır, Yalova, Karabük, Osmaniye, and Düzce, with the aim of preventing tax losses, curbing environmental pollution caused by non-standard fuel, and putting an end to the illegal activities of criminal groups.

During the operations: 278 addresses were searched. 1 million liters of illegal fuel with a market value of approximately 38 million TL were seized. Judicial proceedings were initiated against 91 individuals, and administrative proceedings were initiated against 43 individuals. A total of 20,825,351 TL in administrative fines was imposed.

Provincial units of the Revenue Administration also participated in the operation. In a joint assessment with the Revenue Administration, a tax loss with a market value of approximately 13 million TL was prevented."
