Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated on his X account the number of people who were detained for being in the area to enter Taksim Square on the occasion of May 1st Labor Day.
Yerlikaya's X post is as follows:
"In Istanbul, on May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day, 210 individuals who did not heed warnings, attempted to advance to Taksim Square, and attacked our police officers have been detained."
