Minister Yerlikaya did not make that post after months: The noteworthy AKP Headquarters detail

In Turkey, the trend of Ministers sharing updates regarding the work within their Ministries' scope of duty and authority via their personal accounts began during the pandemic with Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.

Following Koca, former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu also continued to provide operational details through his own personal account.

HE WENT TO HEADQUARTERS

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, who took over the office from Soylu on June 4, began publishing the details and footage of operations such as Kafes, Köstebek, and Kalkan on X between 08:00 and 09:00.

However, a surprise development occurred yesterday.

Minister Yerlikaya attended the candidacy meeting held at the AKP Headquarters yesterday. The fact that Yerlikaya, whose name is mentioned for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) candidacy, did not make a post brought the question "Will he be a candidate?" to mind.

DELAYED POST

Minister Yerlikaya later announced at 09:31 that 56 individuals sought by Interpol with a Red Notice had been detained as part of the Kafes-28 operations.
