Ministry announces number of terrorists who surrendered through 'persuasion'

The Ministry of Interior announced that a total of 134 members of the PKK/KCK armed terrorist organization have surrendered to security forces since the beginning of the year as part of ongoing persuasion efforts.

According to the statement from the ministry, those who surrendered included organization members wanted in the Gray category (2) and the Yellow category (1).

SURRENDERED THROUGH 'PERSUASION' EFFORTS

The statement noted that the surrenders took place as a result of efforts coordinated by the Gendarmerie General Command Intelligence Department, the General Directorate of Security Intelligence Department, and the Counter-Terrorism (TEM) Department.

"IN LINE WITH THE GOAL OF A TERROR-FREE TURKEY"

The Ministry of Interior's statement is as follows:

"As part of the persuasion efforts carried out since the beginning of this year, a total of 134 PKK/BTÖ members, including 2 in the Gray category and 1 in the Yellow category, have been ensured to surrender.

As a result of the efforts coordinated by the Gendarmerie General Command Intelligence Department, the General Directorate of Security Intelligence Department, and the TEM Department, 134 terrorist organization members (1 of whom is from a leftist group) have surrendered to our security forces through persuasion in 2026.

Regarding the terrorist organization members who surrendered;

-115 were arrested.

-Judicial control provisions were applied to 14.

-Judicial proceedings for 5 are ongoing.

In line with the goal of a terror-free Turkey, we are continuing our fight against terrorism in a multifaceted manner, alongside our security operations, through persuasion efforts and the effective remorse mechanism. Our fight against terrorist organizations that target the peace, unity, and solidarity of our dear nation will continue with the same determination and resolve.
