Ministry approval for 'Imralı' granted: When will the DEM Party delegation meet with Abdullah Öcalan?
While the Ministry of Justice has approved the DEM Party's application to visit terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan in Imralı, a statement regarding the matter has come from DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder.
Following the call by Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli for "DEM to meet with Imralı," the application made by the DEM Party to the Ministry of Justice to meet with Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, has been approved.
STATEMENT FROM MINISTER TUNÇ
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated that permission has been granted for Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder and DEM Party Van MP Pervin Buldan to visit the Imralı F-Type High-Security Closed Penal Execution Institution. Yılmaz Tunç noted that the visit would take place on Saturday or Sunday, depending on weather conditions.
DEM Party sources reported that following the verbal notification of the permission given to Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan, the delegation will travel to Imralı on Saturday (December 28) or Sunday (December 29), depending on the weather.
SIRRI SÜREYYA ÖNDER: NO INFORMATION ON THE DATE YET
DEM Party member Sırrı Süreyya Önder made a statement regarding the matter. Stating that approval for the visit had been received from the ministry, Önder said that the day of the visit was not yet certain due to weather conditions.
Noting that they would reach Imralı by sea, Önder said, "The timing of the visit will be determined based on weather conditions. We are waiting for news. We have not yet received any information regarding the date. We will most likely depart from Mudanya."
