Ministry of National Defense announces: 582 terrorists neutralized since January 1
At a meeting regarding the activities of the Ministry of National Defense, it was announced that 582 terrorists have been neutralized since January 1, with 229 in northern Iraq and 353 in northern Syria.
The Ministry of National Defense provided updates on the operations of the Turkish Armed Forces during its weekly briefing.
The following statements were included in the announcement:
"Our Turkish Armed Forces continue their fight with determination against all threats and dangers directed at our survival, primarily the PKK/KCK/PYD-YPG, DAESH, and FETO terrorist organizations. Through successfully executed operations, including those in northern Iraq and Syria;
63 terrorists have been neutralized in the last week. Thus, the number of terrorists neutralized since January 1, 2024, has reached 582, with 229 in northern Iraq and 353 in northern Syria.
138 INDIVIDUALS APPREHENDED AT BORDERS
In the last week, 138 individuals attempting to cross illegally have been apprehended. Of those apprehended, 4 are members of terrorist organizations. 2,861 individuals were prevented from crossing the border. Consequently, the number of people apprehended while attempting to cross our borders illegally since January 1 has risen to 1,747. The number of people prevented from crossing the border has reached 34,447."
