Ministry of National Education's 'Palestine' decision to be implemented in all schools: 'High participation is essential'

Stating that one of the fundamental responsibilities of the Ministry of National Education is to raise students with an awareness of moral responsibility required by peace, democracy, and universal human rights alongside academic equipment, it was noted: "Educators have a responsibility in the effort to stop human rights violations, war, and lawlessness.

For this reason, educational policies must place the goal of a world where peace, democracy, and human rights prevail at their center. In this context, the Century of Turkey Education Model positions the principles of unconditional respect for human rights, global peace, and respect for the world at the center from the perspective of fundamental rights and freedoms.

In line with this high sense of institutional and moral responsibility, we request that simultaneous awareness events be organized in all schools on the morning of Tuesday, October 7.

With these events, it is aimed to concretely demonstrate our determined support for ending human rights violations in Palestine and to reinforce the youth's human rights and democratic sensitivity, as well as their sense of shared responsibility, at the highest level," it was stated.

"HIGH PARTICIPATION IS ESSENTIAL"

Emphasizing that the organization will lay the groundwork for the deep-rooted construction of human rights advocacy awareness in students, the letter included the following statements:

"It is of great importance that these events, which schools will organize within their own means, strongly reflect our nation's common stance and find wide resonance in the Turkish and world public opinion. Therefore, the theme, content, timing, and especially the processes of sharing with the public must be handled with maximum sensitivity and carried out within an institutional discipline. It is anticipated that with these activities to be carried out simultaneously across Turkey, the common will displayed by our nation in the name of peace and humanity will be strongly reaffirmed.

It is essential that the aforementioned organization be carried out with high participation and meticulous planning, in a manner worthy of the sensitivity of the subject, without in any way damaging the general peace and discipline of the schools. In the events to be organized, based on the virtue-value-action approach of the Century of Turkey Education Model, it should be aimed for students to develop critical thinking skills and a sense of responsibility in the face of national and universal issues. These events will also prepare a concrete ground for the realization of the Century of Turkey Education Model's approach to the individual, family, society, and environment.

This awareness process, which begins at school, should be supported by effective communication established with the family; the awareness gained by students should serve to strengthen the common stance of the society in which they live. Furthermore, these events should encourage the individual to be sensitive to developments around them and to take responsibility based on human rights by strengthening their global citizenship awareness in addition to their national identity; they should deepen the personality and belonging-focused approach of the Century of Turkey Education Model. I request that the necessary actions be taken with maximum sensitivity regarding human rights and democracy awareness."
