Ministry of Trade adds English Home to list of unsafe products
The Ministry of Trade has banned the sale of an English Home reed diffuser due to health risks. The product will be recalled from the market on the grounds that it could cause burns and injuries.
The Ministry of Trade has announced new products containing health risks and irregularities via the 'Unsafe Product Information System'. English Home's reed diffuser was also included in the list. While a decision was made to recall the product from the market and ban its sale, the risks it poses were cited as 'burns, injuries'.
According to information on the Ministry's website, the reason for the product's insecurity was stated as "In accordance with Article 36 and Annex-2 3.2 (TS EN ISO 11683) of the Regulation on Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures, there is no tactile warning sign on the inner packaging of the product".
