Ministry takes action following police officer's murder at TÜVTÜRK
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has launched a comprehensive investigation and assigned inspectors to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of police officer Melih Okan Keskin, who lost his life following a dispute at a TÜVTÜRK vehicle inspection station in Ankara.
In a statement regarding the incident that occurred on February 2 at the TÜVTÜRK vehicle inspection station operating in İvedik, Ankara, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure emphasized that the tragedy resulting in the death of police officer Melih Okan Keskin has caused justified sorrow among the public.
Immediately following the incident, the ministry assigned two chief inspectors and three auditors to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter. It was also reported that internal audit experts from the company operating the station have been included in the process.
The statement said, “Our Ministry will ensure that the incident is meticulously examined in all its aspects, and the process will be closely monitored. The developments have been referred to judicial authorities, and the necessary legal process is being carefully conducted by the Ministry of Justice and other relevant institutions.”
The ministry's statement further included the following: “All necessary measures will continue to be taken to ensure that our citizens can receive services in safety. Inspectors and audit teams will work to uncover all the details of the incident. We wish God's mercy upon our police officer who lost his life, and we extend our condolences and patience to his family and loved ones.”
The statement, which drew attention to the importance of the investigation being conducted with the same sensitivity by all stakeholders, indicated that the process will be carried out transparently to clarify the incident as a result of judicial and administrative inquiries.
