The MIT has announced that PKK/KCK terrorist Mehmet Akin, codenamed "Harun Egid," who posed a threat to Turkish Armed Forces bases in northern Iraq where Operation Claw is ongoing, has been neutralized.

According to information obtained from security sources, the terrorist Mehmet Akin, who received sabotage training from the terrorist organization in Avaşin, northern Iraq, was involved in attacks against the Turkish Armed Forces.

Akin, who was wanted by the Adana 3rd Criminal Court of Peace for the crime of "membership in an armed terrorist organization," was identified as preparing for attacks on Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) bases in the region where Operation Claw is continuing in northern Iraq. It was reported that the terrorist, who was determined to be hiding in the Hakurk region of northern Iraq, was neutralized in a pinpoint preventive operation by the MIT.
