MIT operation in Syria: Statement from the Ministry
The Ministry of Interior has issued a statement regarding the death of Binali Aslan, whose body was found buried in a wooded area in Mersin. Following an operation in Syria targeting a 14-member family identified as Aslan's killers, 8 suspects were killed, 2 were wounded, and 4 were captured alive.
New developments have emerged regarding the murder of 65-year-old Binali Aslan, who went missing at the Ankara Intercity Bus Terminal (AŞTİ) and was found buried in a wooded area in Tarsus, Mersin. The Ministry of Interior determined that the suspects in the investigation launched after Aslan's murder were a 14-member family who had crossed into Syria. As a result of coordinated efforts between the MIT and security units in Syria, 8 suspects were captured dead, 2 were wounded, and 4 were captured alive.
SUSPECTS CAPTURED IN OPERATION IN SYRIA
The Ministry of Interior announced that after determining the suspects were located at an address in the Idlib-Atme region of Syria, a joint operation was conducted with the Syrian Internal Security Service. During the operation, a clash broke out after the suspects responded to calls to surrender with gunfire, resulting in 8 people being killed, 2 wounded, and 4 captured alive. The captured suspects were extradited to Turkey.
BİNALİ ASLAN'S BODY FOUND IN WOODED AREA
Once it was determined that the 14-member family, who held DAESH views and had rented Binali Aslan's vehicle before killing him, had crossed into Syria, search operations were launched in the Tarsus district of Mersin by the Mersin Provincial Gendarmerie Command and the Mersin Provincial Police Department. As a result of the search in the wooded area, Aslan's buried body was found.
INVESTIGATION INTO SUSPECTS' ACTIONS CONTINUES
During the investigation process in Mersin, it was determined that the suspects were also linked to individuals named M.A. and N.S. in Ankara. These individuals were apprehended by the Ankara Provincial Police Department and arrested by the court. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Victory Party (Zafer Partisi) Chairman Ümit Özdağ made a notable social media post regarding the death of Binali Aslan. Özdağ stated that Aslan was kidnapped by two terrorists before he went missing and was murdered in Mersin. Özdağ also issued important warnings regarding the activities of the PKK and PYD against Turkey. Özdağ stated that such incidents are not isolated and that the threats posed by terrorist organizations against Turkey are increasing.
ÖZDAĞ'S POST AND THE TERROR THREAT
In his post, Özdağ criticized security units, stating, "Two groups of PKK terrorists have been detected in the rural areas of two of our provinces. The PKK is preparing for conflict in Northern Iraq. The PYD is rehearsing all kinds of activities, including attacks on Turkey."
