The National Intelligence Organization (MIT) has shared a chronology regarding the preparation process carried out by FETÖ prior to the July 15 coup attempt. According to the shared information, it was stated that the organization's ringleader, Fetullah Gülen, made the decision for the coup during this period, and that preparations were conducted through meetings held in Pennsylvania, Ankara, and Istanbul.

COUP PREPARATIONS BEGAN AFTER THE ELECTIONS
According to the chronology provided by MIT, FETÖ, assessing that the structure created within the bureaucracy after the general elections did not yield the expected result, began coup preparations upon the instructions of the organization's ringleader.

The first meeting with high-ranking soldiers was held in Ankara on December 27-31, 2015. Following this meeting, Adil Öksüz and Kemal Batmaz went to the US to deliver the prepared report to the organization's ringleader in Pennsylvania.
Meetings continued between January and March 2016. It was reported that meetings were held with high-ranking soldiers in Ankara on January 9, January 16, January 30, February 20, February 29, and March 14, and that the prepared reports were again taken to Pennsylvania.
It was stated that meetings regarding coup planning continued in Ankara on March 30, May 5, May 27, June 4, and June 15.
FINAL INSTRUCTIONS RECEIVED IN PENNSYLVANIA
It was stated that between June 20 and June 25, 2016, Adil Öksüz, Kemal Batmaz, and Nurettin Oruç went to Pennsylvania to receive the final critical instructions, and subsequently returned to Turkey.
On July 6, 7, 8, and 9, 2016, meetings were held with high-ranking soldiers for four consecutive days in Ankara under the chairmanship of Adil Öksüz. It was reported that the steps to be taken on July 15 were planned during these meetings.
Furthermore, information was shared that Adil Öksüz and Kemal Batmaz went to Pennsylvania on July 12 to meet with Fetullah Gülen for the last time, where the final evaluation meeting was held and the final instructions were received.
FINAL COORDINATION BEFORE THE COUP
According to the MIT chronology, simultaneous activity continued within the organization in Ankara and Istanbul between July 12 and July 15, 2016.
During this process, it was stated that final coordination meetings were held with coup-plotting officers at the İstanbul Maltepe Barracks, the Air Force Academy, and the Air War College, and that many generals and high-ranking soldiers were present at the Air War College despite it not being their duty station.
The statement indicated that the key civilian figures of the coup moved to Ankara on July 14 and that preparations were completed before July 15.
