More than 20 aftershocks occurred in Istanbul
According to information provided by AFAD, foreshocks and aftershocks began occurring in Istanbul starting at 09:13 this morning. The epicenter of the 24 recorded earthquakes was determined to be Silivri and Büyükçekmece.
The Marmara Region woke up to a series of aftershocks in the morning hours.
The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) continues to share information regarding the earthquakes in Istanbul in real-time on its website.
According to the current data released, aftershocks centered in Silivri and Büyükçekmece began to be recorded starting at 09:13 in the morning.
The magnitudes of the 24 earthquakes that have occurred so far range between 2.0 and 6.2.
In particular, the 6.2-magnitude earthquake centered in Silivri affected the entire Marmara Region.
