Morning traffic paralyzed in Istanbul! Vehicles struggled to move

Traffic density increased in some areas due to the crowds formed by those heading to work or school from the early hours of the morning in the city.

On the Anatolian side, vehicles are moving slowly on the D-100 highway in the direction of Ankara from Göztepe to Maltepe, and in the direction of Edirne from Kartal to the entrance of the Eurasia Tunnel.

While congestion is observed at the Çamlıca toll booths on the TEM Highway in the direction of Ankara, vehicles are moving slowly between the Sancaktepe-Ataşehir locations in the opposite direction.

Traffic density, which begins at the Uzunçayır Junction for crossings from the Anatolian side to the European side, continues until the 15 July Martyrs Bridge. On the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, traffic begins from Ataşehir.

On the European side, vehicles are struggling to move on the D-100 highway in the direction of Ankara at the Avcılar, Bakırköy, Cevizlibağ, Halıcıoğlu, Okmeydanı, and Çağlayan locations.

SNOWFALL HAD AN IMPACT

There is congestion on the TEM Highway in the direction of Ankara at the Mahmutbey, Avcılar, Gaziosmanpaşa, and Kağıthane locations.

On the other hand, as people took into account the warnings regarding the expected snowfall in the city and turned to public transportation, congestion also formed at some metrobus, bus, and tram stations, especially where transfers take place.

According to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) CepTrafik map data, traffic density reached 58 percent on the European side and 69 percent on the Anatolian side.
