Mother who warned group to 'stop swearing' beaten mercilessly in front of her child!

A violent incident that took place at a cafe in İzmit on the first day of Ramadan Bayram resulted in a mother and her son being hospitalized. Meryem Yıldırım (39) and her son Talha Kaan İzal (21) were attacked at the venue they had visited to spend time during the holiday.

According to allegations, Yıldırım saw a person being beaten in front of the cafe and tried to help by calling the injured person inside. At that moment, the group responsible for the attack entered the venue and began swearing. When Talha Kaan İzal warned the group, saying, "There are women here, do not swear," the argument quickly escalated into a fight.

ATTACK LEADS TO HOSPITALIZATION

During the ensuing scuffle, the mother and son became the targets of the group. Meryem Yıldırım, who was severely injured by blows to her face and body, was left covered in blood. Yıldırım, who was taken to the hospital by medical teams arriving at the scene after her son called for help, was found to have multiple fractures in her face and a cracked rib. The suspects were taken into custody following the incident.

MOMENTS OF TERROR ON CAMERA

While footage remains of the moments the mother and son spent at the cafe before the attack, the moment of the beating was captured by the mobile phone cameras of citizens nearby. The footage shows the suspects shouting profanities and insults, displaying aggressive behavior, and a woman in the group throwing a glass.

"THE ONLY THING I REMEMBER IS THE MOMENT I FELL"

Meryem Yıldırım, who is continuing her treatment in the hospital and faces the risk of permanent damage to her face, described what she went through.

Stating that the incident began with a humanitarian reflex, Yıldırım said:

"I told the waiter who was being beaten, 'Come inside.' My son was with me at that time. The person who was beating him followed him inside. He swore. My son said, 'Don't swear, there are ladies here.' He attacked my son. The owner of the venue, Mr. Uğur, kicked my son. I went outside, they started beating my son, and I couldn't stand by. Mr. Kürşat kicked me in the face, Mr. Emrah kicked me all over my body. I currently have fractures all over my face. It was crowded there. The only thing I remember is the moment I fell to the ground, and I cannot forget the face of the person who kicked me. I am currently being threatened. My sister and my son were called. They told us they would come to the hospital in a different way and that we should withdraw our complaint. I will not withdraw my complaint. My son carried me in his arms covered in blood, and this is the state I am in."

"NO HUMAN BEING COULD DO THIS"

Expressing that she suffered serious damage to her face and ribs, Yıldırım said, "I have a cracked rib, my face will not return to its former state, and there is a very high probability of permanent indentations. Surgery may be postponed due to the risk of a blood clot in the brain. They said there might be depressions left where the fractures are on my face. I ended up in this state because we said 'Don't swear' when there was nothing going on, and I want them to receive the punishment they deserve. I did not accept the money offer they made to me. This is the first time in my life I have experienced something like this. No human being could do this. They did this to me in front of my son's eyes, and I don't want them to get out without being punished. There was one woman among them, and the rest were men. The woman threw a glass at my face. I used to spend every first day of the holiday with my son. We went to my friend's venue, we ate, then we came to Rita. That was also my friend's venue. If my friend hadn't thrown my son into the middle of those men, we wouldn't be here today."

"I SAW MY MOTHER COVERED IN BLOOD"

Unable to overcome the shock, Talha Kaan İzal described the moment of the incident with these words:

"We just sat at a place called Rita to have a good time. We were going to have a drink and leave. At that moment, all hell broke loose outside. My mother told someone who was being beaten outside, 'Come inside.' When my mother intervened, I stood up to protect her. My mother was sitting at the threshold of the door with her back turned. I was standing over her. They entered the place swearing at the boy. I made warnings like, 'There are women here, don't swear.' Before I could finish my sentence, one of the individuals hit me in the left eye. I pushed him in a panic, and his friends swarmed us. It was a woman named Sema; I saw them for the first time in my life. That woman threw a glass at us. After that, they threw me outside. The owner of the venue kicked me in the back, and I fell outside. They surrounded me and started kicking and punching. I couldn't see my surroundings, and I thought my mother was still inside. I didn't see behind me at all. I thought they wouldn't hit her because she was a woman. Because I wasn't raised that way; my mother raised me saying, 'You don't raise a hand to a woman.' I saved myself from the crowd in a panic. I went to the police. I took the police with me, I wanted to return to my mother."

"EVERYONE WAS THROWING PUNCHES AND KICKS"

Relaying the details of the incident and demanding that the suspects be punished, İzal said, "I saw my mother covered in blood. I picked my mother up, and as I was going down the stairs, my foot slipped, and we both fell. After we fell, I couldn't carry her, and my limbs went numb. A man took my mother, and I had a nervous breakdown at that moment. I cried sobbing, 'Mom, mom.' That man gave me a solid slap, I came to my senses, and I was by my mother's side. The ambulance arrived, and we went to the hospital by ambulance."

Talha Kaan İzal continued as follows:

"There were 3 of them. It was Kürşat who punched me. When I said to him, 'There are women here, don't swear,' he hit me directly in the face. I hit him back, and after I hit him, Emrah started throwing punches at me. The one who hit me in the back was the venue owner, Uğur. I don't know any of them. I already curled up when I was being beaten. Everyone was throwing punches and kicks. If I had fallen to the ground, it would most likely have ended in death. I saved myself and went to the police. I hope justice will be served. I hope they don't get away with it."
