MPs who did not sign the extraordinary congress declaration in CHP identified

Following the court's ruling of absolute nullity, a joint statement has been issued by MPs supporting elected Chairman Özgür Özel in the CHP, where leadership debates are ongoing.

A total of 111 MPs, including Özel, signed a joint declaration requesting that an extraordinary congress be convened on July 12, 2026. The declaration stated that the only will that can decide on the future and management of the CHP is that of the delegates, while opposing the shaping of the party through court decisions.

The MPs also pointed out that if the congress cannot be held by July 25, 2026, there could be a risk regarding the CHP's participation in elections.

EMPHASIS ON DELEGATES

The joint declaration included the statement, "The sole power that will decide the direction, course, fate, and management of our party is our delegates, who have been filtered through elections from among our members."

The statement also noted that the extraordinary congress must be held as soon as possible so that the ongoing process does not harm either the CHP or Turkey.

27 MPS DID NOT SIGN

While 111 of the CHP's 138 MPs signed the joint declaration, 27 MPs did not support the declaration.
