Warning from Mücahit Birinci to AKP: 'Our situation could be worse than Hungary's': 'The public wants change'

In the general elections held in Hungary, the Respect and Freedom Party (Tisza), led by Peter Magyar, surpassed Viktor Orbán's Fidesz party, which has been in power for 16 years, and won the election.

Remarkable comments continue to come from AKP figures regarding the election results in Hungary.

TGRT Haber anchor Mehmet Aydın, who is close to the government, shared a post regarding the Hungarian elections: “Those who draw parallels to Turkey through Orbán's election... You haven't understood anything. Every country is different. Political dynamics, social structures, and electoral processes are unique.”

A response to Aydın's post came from Mücahit Birinci, who was referred to the disciplinary board with a request for permanent expulsion from the AKP after his name appeared in documents revealed during the İBB stock market scandal, and who resigned from the AKP before the decision was made.

Quoting Aydın's post, Birinci stated: “Hungary is of course a separate country; however, our templates are very similar. Especially in the journey of the opposition leader and the prime minister, there are many points that overlap with our story.”

Birinci continued as follows:

“It would be a great injustice to be afraid to face this, to sweep the problem under the rug, and to leave the entire solution on the shoulders of our President.

The public wants change.

The public is in an economic impasse (for the last 5 years).

The public feels under pressure.

The public gave the first signal in the municipal elections.

We haven't made much progress since that day. If the second signal is a “red card,” our situation could be worse than Hungary's (God forbid).

For our region and our country, we need to urgently shoulder the burden and support our state and our President.”

In his next post, citing the events for which Magyar, who won the elections in Hungary, was previously mentioned, Birinci noted the following:

“Look, there is no crime or sin that the man hasn't committed.

That is the whole point!!!

When the public decides, after a certain point, they don't look at who is what or who is who.

While I don't think we have reached that phase, I feel that we are very close.

For the sake of all this accumulated effort and the 25 years of service given to the country, we must recover very quickly.”
