Muhammet Yakut, known for his video broadcasts, captured in Spain

Muhammet Yakut, who was wanted with a red notice due to the videos he published on social media, was captured by police in northern Spain.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had initiated an investigation into Muhammet Yakut for the crimes of "plunder by more than one person acting together" and "unlawfully obtaining and disseminating personal data."

Within the scope of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Muhammet Yakut, and a request for a red notice was sent to the relevant unit of the Ministry of Justice.

As a result of the work carried out by the Interpol-Europol Department, a red notice was issued by the Interpol General Secretariat.

Yakut was caught during an identity check in the city of Santander in northern Spain yesterday.

It was learned that information regarding Yakut's capture was conveyed to the Madrid Embassy this morning due to Turkey's extradition request, and the legal process has been initiated.

Yakut is being held in custody in Santander.

CAN TANRIYAR HAD ALSO BEEN ARRESTED

Within the scope of the investigation, Can Tanriyar was arrested on April 30 on allegations of providing information and documents to Muhammet Yakut. It was noted that there were findings that Tanriyar had provided information, documents, and photographs to Muhammet Yakut to be used in his video posts, and that the suspects had acted together during and before the video sharing process.
