Muharrem İnce clarifies 'yavşak' remarks: 'I was referring to the relationship'

Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce had previously stated, "If you are in such a 'yavşak' relationship with FETÖ and the PKK, this nation will not vote for you even if the dollar hits 100 lira."

Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce made statements to the press in Mersin yesterday regarding these remarks.

While it was alleged that İnce was targeting the CHP with the term 'yavşak', İnce explained his comments by saying, "Regardless of which terrorist organization a relationship is established with, this is a 'yavşak' type of relationship. I would not use this expression for any political party, nor do I find it appropriate for it to be used. I was referring entirely to the relationship between them," he said.

"THIS NATION FEARS TERROR"

Answering questions regarding the presidential election process, İnce said, "The economy can topple a government, that is true, but security topples the economy. If you are in such a 'yavşak' relationship with FETÖ and the PKK, this nation will not vote for you even if the dollar hits 100 lira. If you cannot distance yourself from FETÖ, if you cannot distance yourself from the PKK, the nation will not vote for you even if the dollar hits 100 lira. Stay away from this FETÖ. This nation fears terror. Do you know why? For a thousand years, it has seen the Mongols on these lands, it has seen the Byzantines, the Greeks, the British, the French, the Italians, and the Russians. That is why this nation puts security and the fight against terror before bread and meat. I was trying to explain these things," he said.
