Muharrem İnce to Ümit Özdağ: 'The shame of Sinan Oğan is enough for you'

Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce gave a very harsh response to Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ's criticism that he "did not trust himself." Accusing Özdağ of lacking political ethics, İnce reminded him of the former presidential candidate by saying, "The shame of Sinan Oğan is enough for you."

The ties between two prominent figures in politics, Memleket Party leader Muharrem İnce and Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, have completely snapped. On the Babala TV program, Özdağ was asked, "Would you support Muharrem İnce if he were a candidate?" and answered, "He did not trust himself as much as you trust İnce." İnce responded at lightning speed with a blistering reply.

Targeting Özdağ on his social media account, Muharrem İnce openly explained why he had kept his distance from the Zafer Party leader. Claiming that Özdağ was chasing popularity, İnce used the following words:

"From the moment I understood that you lacked political courtesy and ethics, I avoided you. If this attitude makes me a fugitive in your eyes, then yes, that is an extremely accurate assessment! When the refugee issue fell off the agenda, you had nothing left to say; are you now trying to increase your popularity by picking a fight with me?"

"THE SHAME OF SİNAN OĞAN IS ENOUGH FOR YOU"

Increasing the intensity of his criticism, İnce referred to the alliance balances in the last presidential election and to Özdağ's candidate at the time, Sinan Oğan, switching sides. Claiming that Özdağ had bargained with the government, İnce continued his attack as follows:

"If you had managed to grab a ministry from Erdoğan at the time, you would now be sitting on the government benches and appearing before us as the most ardent defender of the People's Alliance! In the presidential election, the candidate you put forward, Sinan Oğan, went and supported that alliance. That great shame alone is enough for you!"
