Muhittin Böcek's statement to the prosecutor's office has emerged

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek, who was arrested as part of an investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, denied the bribery allegations directed at him in his statement to the prosecutor. Böcek stated that he had no knowledge that a 30 million TL house purchased for his former daughter-in-law and an 8.5 million TL vehicle wrapping invoice were paid for by businessman Yusuf Yadoğlu.

Böcek also denied allegations that shortly before the 2024 local elections, 25 million TL was requested for election campaigns during a meeting his son Gökhan Böcek held at Yusuf Yadoğlu's office, and that when this amount could not be met, an agreement for 8.5 million TL was made in exchange for vehicle wrapping services. Relevant company officials confirmed that this service was performed as part of Böcek's election campaign and that payments were made through Yadoğlu's companies.

BÖCEK'S DEFENSE

In his statement to the prosecutor, Muhittin Böcek said, "I am not in a position to be beholden to anyone for a house," noting that his assets are transparent and he has no need for such a thing. Stating that his son Gökhan Böcek is abroad on a planned trip, Böcek emphasized that his son has no influence over the municipality and that the accusations are baseless.

Böcek said, "My son has no official or unofficial influence over the municipality. I absolutely do not accept the accusations leveled against me." He also stated that he learned about a house transfer to his former daughter-in-law during the divorce process while giving his statement to the police.

Finally, addressing the allegations that the cost of the 30 million TL house purchased in February 2025 in the name of Zeynep Kerimoğlu, the wife of Gökhan Böcek who is in the process of divorce, was paid by Yadoğlu, Böcek stated that he was unaware of these processes.
