Murat Ağırel: The Ministry of Interior called me and stated that the necessary action will be taken

Journalist Murat Ağırel had filed a criminal complaint following threatening messages sent to him and his family. Ağırel stated that officials from the Ministry of Interior called him and informed him that an investigation had been launched as of last night.

"STATED THAT THE NECESSARY ACTION WILL BE TAKEN"

Ağırel's statement is as follows:

"Today, officials from the Ministry of Interior called. They informed me that an investigation into the immoral posts made about my family was launched as of last night, and that not only those who used profanity but all accounts that targeted and threatened us have been identified and that the necessary action will be taken.

I would like to thank the Minister, the officials, and everyone who did not remain silent in the face of this immorality."

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Sharing the messages he received on social media, Murat Ağırel had said, "They say they will rape my wife, my daughter, my children. They say they will shoot me in the head. They are saying this about my 12-year-old daughter. I have reported all of these to the Prosecutor's Office. They also targeted my sisters. This is not a fan base of a community doing this, but an organized structure claiming to act on their behalf. Thankfully, our Prosecutor stated that this is an organized structure; and that the Telegram and Whatsapp accounts they use to message each other must also be identified. Thankfully, the police officials also took the names of those accounts."
